HOW DO I MAKE A CALL WHILE I AM ROAMING?

It's simple. Turn the phone on, dial the number and press SEND.

If you are calling a local number in the city you are in, dial the 10-digit number you are calling. If you are calling a long distance number, including calls back to your home area, dial a "1" before the 10-digit number.

In some areas (such as areas in which we do not have roaming agreements), you may be asked for a credit card or calling card in order to make a call. If this happens, simply follow the voice directions you are given in order to complete the call.

If you have problems making a call while roaming, dial the Mobile # listed to talk to a local customer service representative.

HOW DO I RECEIVE A CALL WHILE I AM ROAMING?

The cellular service provider in the area that you are roaming in must know where you are in order to make sure an incoming call is routed to you. Your phone lets the service provider know by “registering” in that area. How to register your phone depends on the type of FMR, or Follow Me Roaming, the service provider has.

There are two types of FMR. FMR+ (or Automatic Call Delivery) allows you to automatically receive phone calls as long as your phone is on and you are receiving service. Your phone will automatically register in that area and let us know where to send your calls. So, if the area you are roaming in is listed as FMR+ simply turn your phone on to receive your calls.

FMR areas require one extra step. In order to be able to receive phone calls simply turn your phone on and dial *18 SEND. This will register your phone in that area and let us know to transfer your calls there to you.

You’ll need to remember a couple of things about FMR:

You will need to register your phone in each different service area you enter, so when you leave one provider’s area and enter another, dial *18 SEND again.
Registration of your phone is canceled at midnight, so you’ll need to re-register each day.
When you return to an FMR+ area or your home service area after being registered in an FMR area, you will need to dial *19 SEND to deactivate Follow Me Roaming so that your incoming calls won’t continue to be sent to the area your phone was registered in (remember that in an FMR+ area or our home service area your phone automatically registers, so you don‘t need to dial *18 SEND).
You DO NOT need to activate FMR if you are only going to be making calls - FMR is only for receiving calls.
Once you have made a call in an FMR area, your phone is activated to receive calls for that day in that area; you do not have to use *18 in that area for that day to receive calls.

There are some areas that do not have FMR. They are indicated in the FMR column of this booklet with the word “NO”. Also, if an area is not listed in this book, then there is no FMR there, either. In these areas you will not be able to receive calls.
